AN ACT to incorporate the Attanagalla Development Foundation.

[Date of Commencement: 15th July, 2008]

1. Short title.

This Act may be cited as the Attanagalla Development Foundation (Incorporation) Act.

2. Incorporation of the Attanagalla Development Foundation.

From and after the date of commencement of this Act, such and so many persons as now are members of the Attanagalla Development Foundation (hereinafter referred to as the "Foundation”) or shall hereafter be admitted as members of the Corporation hereby constituted, shall be a body corporate (hereinafter referred to as the ”Corporation”) with perpetual succession under the name and the style of the "Attanagalla Development Foundation” and by that name may sue and be sued, with full powers and authority to have and use a common seal, and alter the same at its pleasure.

3. General objects of the Corporation.

The general objects for which the Corporation is constituted are hereby declared to be—

(a) to provide of houses to poor Sri Lankans;

(b) to provide food, clothing and drugs to orphaned children and conduct medical clinics for the poor;

(c) to take action towards the social, educational and cultural development of under privileged children in Sri Lanka, to grant of scholarships and establish foster parents schemes;

(d) to launch self-employment programmes to strengthen the economic position of women, impart knowledge and grant loans and assistance to them for self-employment projects;
