AN ACT to incorporate the Navodaya Foundation.

[Date of Commencement: 21st June, 1999]

1. Short title.

This Act may be cited as the Navodaya Foundation (Incorporation) Act.

2. Incorporation of the Navodaya Foundation.

From and after the date of commencement of this Act, such and so many persons as presently are members of the Navodaya Foundation (hereinafter referred to as the "Foundation”) or shall hereafter be admitted members of the Corporation hereby constituted shall be a body corporate (hereinafter referred to as the "Corporation”) with perpetual succession under the name and style of the "Navodaya Foundation”, and by that name may sue, and be sued in all courts with full power and authority to have, and use a common seal and to alter the same at its pleasure.

3. General objects of the Corporation.

The general objects for which the Corporation is constituted are hereby declared to be—

(a) to foster and promote the social, educational and cultural development of under privileged children;
